Modernism: Designing a New World
On March 17, the Corcoran Gallery of Art opens "Modernism: Designing a New World, 1914-1939." The ambitious exhibition features more than 400
objects including chairs, lamps, architectural models, paintings, photographs and films.
3月17日，华盛顿柯康美术馆的“现代风——新世界的设计，1914－1939”展览拉开序幕。这场盛大的展览共展出了400多件上世纪的经典设计作品，其中包括椅子、灯、建筑模型、画作、照片和电影等。
1、Upon walking into the museum, visitors encounter a 1938 silver Tatra 77A Czech automobile. In the background, 12 copies of Gerrit Rietveld's "Red Blue" chair of 1917 flank the Corcoran's grand staircase.
一步入柯康美术馆，首先映入人们眼帘的是这辆1938年产的银色Tatra 77A捷克汽车。背景是摆放在台阶上的12把1917年“红蓝”椅子。这些椅子的原型出自荷兰艺术家格里特·里特维尔德之手。
