reach和arrive的区别是什么?

reach是及物动词
而arrive是不及物动词

reach是及物动词，后面可以直接跟宾语；

arrive是不及物动词，后面要先跟介词后，才能再接宾语的；

比如说：同样的一句话：

我到北京了。

I reached Beijing.

但是：

I arrived in Beijing.

如果后接小地方，arrive 后面用at
如： He arrived at the factory at 2pm.
当然此句也可以用reach，只是要注意因为它是及物动词，后面不用介词
=He reached the factory at 2pm.
[=He got to the factory at 2pm.]

如果只说“到达”，不提及“地方”，当然就只用arrive了，因为它不及物。
如：他到得比我早
He arrived earlier than I.
