"Walking" Sharks Among 50 New Species Found in Indonesia Reefs

  More than 50 new species have been discovered off the coast of Indonesia, including small, slender-bodied sharks that "walk" with their fins along coral reefs, researchers announced today.Other finds include new species of colorful fish called the "flasher" wrass, a powerful and deadly type of mantis shrimp, and more than 20 new types of corals.

  科研人员9月18日宣布说,50多个新海洋物种日前在印尼沿海水域被发现,这其中包括一种小型的、体态瘦长的鲨鱼,这种鲨鱼能够利用它们的鳍在珊瑚礁上行走。其他新发现的海洋物种还包括一些鱼、虾以及20多种此前不为人知的珊瑚虫。
