奥斯卡十大传奇女星

《时代》周刊公布的奥斯卡十大传奇女星

　　美国《时代》周刊刊登的组图讲述了奥斯卡影史上的十大传奇女星和奥斯卡奖项背后的名人轶事。

　　1、Mary Pickford

　　The movies' first superstar (yes, before Charlie Chaplin), she played golden-curled girls like Cinderella, Pollyanna and Little Annie Rooney well into her thirties. Her marriage to Douglas Fairbanks made them Hollywood's royal couple. After helping to establish the Academy Awards, he naturally wanted one. She invited the voting committee to her home and, voila, a 1929 Oscar for Coquette.

　　玛丽·皮克福德

　　皮克福德是电影史上的第一位超级巨星，比查理·卓别林的资格还要老。直到30多岁，她在影片《灰姑娘》、《小天使》和《小安妮·鲁尼》等影片中塑造的一系列金色卷发女孩形象都深入人心。皮克福德的丈夫是演员道格拉斯·费尔班克斯，夫妇俩由此成为好莱坞的银色情侣。在参与奥斯卡电影奖的设立工作后，皮克福德自然也想在这份奖项中赢得属于自己的荣誉。据说，她邀请奥斯卡评委去她家做客。之后，1929年，皮克福德以《弄情女子》荣获第2届奥斯卡最佳女主角金像奖。

2、Katharine Hepburn

　　The cut-glass cheekbones, breezy hauteur and intimidating gumption of this Connecticut blueblood earned her a Best Actress Oscar, for Morning Glory, at 26. Three more would follow, making her the movies' most laureled performer, but not till she was past 60. Her last came with Henry Fonda (who also won) in On Golden Pond (left).

3、Bette Davis

　　Another take-charge Yankee, but spicing her assertive intelligence with a brooding sexuality, Davis received 11 Oscar nominations - one less than Katharine Hepburn - and won twice. The first, for the 1935 Dangerous (left), was the Academy's atonement for not recognizing her in the previous year's Of Human Bondage. She won her second as a neurotic Southern minx in Jezebel.

　　戴维丝早期从艺时并非一帆风顺，但她是一位性格刚毅的女演员。有电影公司老板曾赞扬她拥有非凡的性感外表，但戴维丝并没有走性感女星路线，而是甘于扮演小角色苦练基本功。成名后的戴维丝拒绝接受任何不合适的角色，即便为此遭受公司停薪。经过艰辛的努力与执著的追求，戴维丝获得了11次奥斯卡提名，并两次获奖。她以1935年拍摄的《危险的人》一片首次获奥斯卡最佳女主角奖，1977年又成为奥斯卡终身成就奖的第5位获得者，且为首次获此殊荣的女演员。

4、Greta Garbo

　　The frosty Swedish beauty (here with John Barrymore in Grand Hotel) was nominated four times but never won. Her studio, MGM, supposedly encouraged its employees to vote for other contract stars (especially Norma Shearer, wife of production boss Irving Thalberg). Whatever the reason,  Garbo was denied an Oscar for her performance Camille, one of the great performances in screen history.

　　葛丽泰·嘉宝

　　出生于瑞典的冷美人嘉宝先后获得过4次奥斯卡提名，但均未获奖。比起同门中的其他女星，嘉宝似乎不太受东家米高梅电影公司的栽培。无论原因如何，即便借影片《卡米尔》（1937年），嘉宝也与奥斯卡擦肩而过，而《卡米尔》堪称好莱坞影史上最杰出的影片之一。

5、Audrey Hepburn

　　Daughter of a Dutch baroness and an English banker - and no relation to Kate Hepburn - she won an Oscar for her first starring role, as the princess in Roman Holiday (left), and was robbed the following year when her heart-breaking Sabrina lost to Grace Kelly's Country Girl. She's still the gold standard for movie elegance and warmth.

6、Elizabeth Taylor

　　A star, and a beauty, from the age of 12 with National Velvet, Taylor was Oscar-nominated four times before she was 30. Her call-girl role in Butterfield 8 won her the first of two Best Actress Oscars. Few, including Taylor, liked the movie, but she got sympathy for enduring a throat operation around voting time. Said a rival nominee, Shirley MacLaine: "I lost to a tracheotomy."

7、Sophia Loren

　　Hollywood prefers to reward its own. But it couldn't ignore this bountiful gift from Italy. In the 50s Loren made a few U.S. movies, then returned home for Vittorio De Sica's Two Women, a World War II drama in which she and her daughter (Eleanora Brown) are raped by soldiers. Loren became the first and only actress to win an Oscar for a foreign-language role. "Bellissima!"

　　索菲娅·罗兰

8、Vanessa Redgrave

　　This classic beauty and supreme mesmerizer was Oscar-nominated six times, winning once, for Supporting Actress in Julia (left) in 1978. Pro-Israel zealots had picketed her for narrating a documentary, The Palestinian, and in her Oscar acceptance speech she was booed when she denounced the "small bunch of Zionist hoodlums" outside the hall. Hollywood eventually calmed down and nominated her twice more.

9、Meryl Streep

　　With 11 nominations as Best Actress (including this year for The Devil Wears Prada, left) and three more for Supporting, mercurial Meryl holds the actress' record as an Oscar finalist. She's won for Kramer vs. Kramer (Supporting) and Sophie's Choice (Actress). Talk about sustained prominence: Streep joins Redgrave, Davis and Katharine Hepburn as Oscar nominees in four consecutive decades.

10、Cate Blanchett

　　Hollywood has anointed this gifted Australian as the embodiment of old-style regal glamour. Her first nomination came playing a queen in Elizabeth (left). She channeled both Ingrid Bergman and Marlene Dietrich in The Good  German, and won a Supporting Actress Oscar impersonating Katharine Hepburn in The Aviator. This year she's nominated for Notes on a Scandal.
