　　微软的一位官员表示，从7月26日开始，Windows用户必须先证明他们操作系统的合法性才能从微软的网站下载软件。

　　微软的印度客户经理Rishi Srivastava确认了微软的这项名为Windows正版优势（Windows Genuine Advantage）的计划。当用户试图从微软的网站下载内容时，他们可以选择在一个ActiveX控制窗口中填入产品序列号来证明自己Windows的合法性。在7月26日后，序列号的填入将变成强制性的。

　　但是，Windows的安全和升级补丁仍然会对所有Windows用户开放（包括盗版用户）。微软发言人本周表示：“安全和升级补丁并不属于Windows强制正版计划，所有Windows用户都可以通过Windows XP的自动更新功能获得这些补丁。”

　　微软美国的发言人拒绝透露微软强制实行Windows正版优势计划的时间，仅仅重申了微软在今年初提出的WGA计划的时间表——今年夏天。

　　微软正版优势计划主要是针对海外市场。与美国和欧洲市场相比，某些地区的盗版非常流行。据商业软件联盟的数据，印度74％的Windows是盗版的。Srivastava认为，大部分印度用户是有意购买正版Windows的。他说：“调查显示，50％的印度盗版用户在能确认产品真实性的情况下是愿意购买正版Windows的。”

　　相比之下，美国本土的Windows盗版率为21％。但由于市场的规模不同，美国市场的盗版Windows对微软造成的损失为66亿美元，印度盗版对微软造成的损失为5.19亿美元。

居然没人顶 盗版用户不高兴吗
